I like a good joke at the expense of "emos" every now and then but I don't have serious hostility over them. I've noticed a lot of these idiot macho wannabe metalheads know more about hating emo than actual metal (The National Emo Kid Beatdown Day thing was even made by some metal posers over myspace apparently). It seems like they just listen to metal because it's not emo, rather than because they truly like metal. Go to a metal myspace group or forum and you'll always see some dumbasses glorify how much they hate emo, meanwhile they listen to equally weak overhyped commercial bands like:
Children of Bodom, In Flames, Nile, Dying Fetus, Cryptopsy, Kataklysm, Job For a Cowboy, Lamb of God, Municipal Waste, Strapping Young Lad, Iced Earth, Necrophagist, Pantera, Origin, Amon Amarth, Cattle Decapitation, Decapitated, Suffocation (new), Devourment, Cephalic Carnage, Dimmu Borgir, etc.
If these idiots are given the hypothetical "who would you kill if you could get away with murder" question, they would just say "all the emos". Wow, you have the opportunity to kill corrupt political/religious leaders, serial child rapists, gangs, or terrorists but you choose to kill someone that dresses differently and listens to different music and isn't breaking any law. Ironic that these people complain about how emos are trendy and are so into looks. Such superficial idiots these fantasizers of killing emos are. There's more serious shit to worry about than someone being emo. The emo-bashers act like emos go out of their way to ruin their lives. Don't lose too much sleep over someone listening to Fall Out Boy or whatever. I don't even know what these so-called emo kids listen to anymore these days because I'm not obsessed with it like these emo-haters are.
Yeah I hate emo. I think it's annoying music and the oxymoronic "brand new old" clothes are retarded. But I still have more respect for a hardworker that listens to emo than for some "metalhead" that does nothing but talk shit about emo and brag about beating up emos online on his mom's computer.
