-I did this one cause my fuckin idiotic school requires people to take "ethnic studies" courses to "promote diversity". Too bad these classes fill up easily and I can't graduate on time because of that. Ethnic studies classes are a joke btw, YOU LEARN NOTHING. I know this cause I've had 3 already and everyone else I know that had them too agree. All you do in class is literally nothing but talk about Republicans being evil. Now I'm not a republican (or dem for that matter), but when I take an Asian American Studies class, I expect to learn about Asians in America. I learned more about Asian Americans in my biology class for godssakes. If you want to teach diversity, then teach it in the first place! Diversity is something you already know about if you walk by a street in San Francisco as it is already, why would you need a classroom to learn the obvious?

-I was reading Intellectual Morons the other day. There was a chapter about how overrated some Menchu book is for being about "the noble savage" (the book was later to be found a fraud, but was still overhyped cause it sympathized with tribal people, a communist agenda). The same hippies that champion noble savages and cries atrocity whenever america does something, turn a blind eye or have no problem with genital mutilations (a real tradition, though not limited to tribes and not as graphic as I make it out to be, but you get the idea). I'm all for noble savages carrying out their simple lives since there is no universal way to live (fuck all bibles), but mutilating people for no rational reason is just wrong on the cross-cultural premise that people prefer to live in one piece. Discuss at the forums
