Frightmare - Brining Back the Bloodshed

Well that maniacal bastard Neil (guitars, vocals) managed to do it. He managed to follow up one masterpiece with an even greater masterpiece. Again Frightmare plays a unique thrash/death/punk/heavy metal blend dubbed Stalk n' slash grind. Sure the last album was fucking phenomenal but this album has a fuller and richer sound that's equppied with even catchier thrashy-grind riffs and more hypnotic heavy metal solos. The solos are the main highlight here, pretty epic stuff that just oozes with a haunting melody. The diverse vocal attack with the high and low pitched combo benefits from the fuller sound too. Those inhuman yet organically concieved ultra low growls can peel concrete off sidewalks, very damn impressive. Every track stands on its own as a new song, nothing sounds identical. I hate when a band rips people off by pretty much playing the same song 13 times and calling it an album *cough* Hate Eternal *cough*. Frightmare knows how to write fresh memorable stuff so expect every song to be a different adventure in capturing the essence of whatever obscure movie the track is about. A must own for fans of any metal sub-genre and also for those who get what cheap and nasty horror movies are all about (ugh, don't you hate people that bitch about every detail in a horror movie as if they were expecting an art house film or something? Bland anal people like that sadly do exist and they probably wouldn't understand Frightmare's appeal). To sum things up, this is like Rigor Mortis, Terrorizer, Holy Terror, and Lord Gore's greatness all melted together perfectly with a slasher sleaze theme. Brilliant.
