Unwilling Lovers (1977)
Psycho momma’s boy (played by Zebedy Colt) has the mind of a little boy due to a traumatic childhood experience where his father and mother got in a fight on top of a mountain. The mother ended up crippled for life and the father (also played by Zebedy Colt but with a fake mustache!) died. The psycho/retard has a screwed up perception of sex since then and now accidentally kills random women then rapes them thinking he was just playing innocent games. Yep, he's turned into a necrophiliac and doesn't even know it! A candy bar wrapper is always left at the scene of the crime, making the media dub the kills, "candy bar murders". Another weird thing about him is when people get mad at him, he gets headaches and he gets rid of those headaches by making them “quiet”, as was the case with two hookers who tried to stab him (played by gorgeous CJ Laing and a young Annie Sprinkle). It's one of my favorite porn films. I wouldn't change a thing about the movie and am very forgiving of its shortcomings (which you grow to enjoy after repeated views) cause this is exactly the kind of depraved filth that made me wanna create this site to begin with. This movie is definitely far from perfect in a technical sense though. Some of the cuts are atrocious and would make a cinema teacher's head explode and the father character is so obviously Zebedy Colt in the fake mustache, which is laughable. But Zebedy's performance is perfect. He is so convincing with this intellectually immature character. From the attire, mannerisms, and tone of voice, it's amazing. The character even has his own innocent yet perverted vocabulary and rules of logic you can understand. If you've seen "Sex Wish", his character is very similar to the one here. Besides Zebedy's performance, the story was pretty consistent overall. There is a big dramatic revelation in the end about how his father truly dies, which puts Zebedy's mental turmoil and relationship with his sexually repressive mother in perspective. As for the actual sex scenes in the film, they're watchable and don't feel too much like a drag. They're short enough so you can get back into the story. Some pornos will just add random pointless sex scenes with characters that have nothing to do with the main character. But in "Unwilling Lovers" there is an awkward threesome where Zebedy learns a lot about sex (like getting "honey" from the "bee hive" and licking "flowers") which is relevant to the story. In sum, this is excellent low-budget 70's psychodrama for fans of sleazy exploitation and classic porn. I consider this more of a film for the exploitation crowd cause the term "porno" means something else these days.
Crude Dude's Verdict: Not much to jerk to but is a fascinating psychodrama for horror fans.
